When
only one grading is used, this applies to vinyl and cover.
Where there are two gradings the vinyl is first. Look also for
descriptive comments, and click on illustration for an enlargement.

from databases.
I try not to sell any records that are not enjoyable
to listen to. This is why nearly all our stock is listed as M-
or VG+.
M
Mint. This grade is used when we know a record has not been played.
Usually for ex-shop stock.
M-
The record looks as if it has not been played. The cover is in
near perfect condition.
VG+
The record may show some signs of having been played, and the cover
will show slight wear, typically at the corners. No tears or
significant creasing.
VG
The record has been played many times or has several marks on the
surface, but displays some deterioration in sound quality.
The cover has been subjected to normal wear and tear.
G
Good. The sound quality has deteriorated due to playing so much.
Where there are significant audible ticks, we try to point this out.
The cover has not been cared for and may have spine splits and
scuffed edges.
P
Poor - all stations south of Good. This will be an unusual
issue desirable only as a space filler.
All records
have imperfections - we try to be generous with our categorising of
stock, but of course we don't always get it right. If you
think we have underestimated the wear and damage to a record, do
tell us. If we have overestimated in the assessment of a
record and it is in more perfect condition than you expected tell
somebody else - and
enjoy it and order from us in the future. Most records are
gradually turning into antiques and often pick up signatures of
owners, price labels and the like in their lifetimes. We
generally do not attempt to remove these - (although we try to make
you aware of them) - they can add character and history and maybe
tell us a little about the folk who first enjoyed them. We
believe it all adds charm to our passionate hobby.
